New Beginnings

I think we all like new beginnings, especially if they are ones we have been hoping for and working toward. BUT, they can still involve a lot of work and patience and perseverance to help make our dreams come true.
My past year has been a lot like that and also for my character in Pressing On, my novella in my latest book from Barbour, The Erie Canal Brides Collection.

As a child, Amanda Mack loved her life in Zoar, Ohio where she was born to Separatist parents who had helped build the Erie/Ohio canal. I’ve read books about the canal being built before, but I enjoy getting different perspectives!! This sounds really good!! I love trains, so I’d like to read more about the tracks being laid. I’ve read different books about the orphan trains, but I enjoy reading more of those, too!! It’s like once you start, you can’t get enough!

I like to read a book about how things got built years ago. For instance, I would enjoy a book on how they built the Brooklyn Bridge. Written as a fictional account withe the real life people involved thrown in. Love books about old New York. So a win win for me.

I would love to read stories about individuals homesteading. I would love to have the collection build on each story until we got to the present day. It would be an awesome way to show people how a settlement grew into a big city.
